Meridian silo grain discharge
Flat bottom silos require a discharge system since unlike hopper bottom silos, gravity will not take care of the full discharge of the grain. The discharge system consists of a silo sweep, that rests on top of the aeration floor and an unload, that rests below the aeration floor. Both move grain using augers.
90% of the paddy will be discharged through gravity and by turning on the unload. An inverted cone will be created with the steady discharge. The silo sweep will be turned on only when no paddy is discharged using gravity and the unload. Even with the silo sweep, 6 to 12 mm of paddy will remain in the silo which will have to be shoveled manually to completely clean out the silo.
Features:
- Proven silo sweep and unload technology that have evolved over multiple decades
- Rugged construction for safe, reliable and long-term operations
- Wide range of offerings ranging from farmer grade (low volume operation) to commercial grade (high volume operation)
- Availability of a paddle sweep, that will mostly eliminate the need for manual shoveling
